New pair to race for the title in one of the leading Ferraris

Another of the top teams of the International GT Open has defined its main driver pair for 2009 : Edil Cris has signed up Alessandro Bonetti and Raffaele Gianmaria to drive its leading Ferrari F430 in this year’s championship. The package is bound to be one of the top contenders for the title. The new pair tested on Thursday 12 March in Imola, along other GT Open teams.

Edil Cris, the Bergamo-based team led by Giancristiano Cavalleri, has been closely associated with the International GT Open: it has won 2 races so far and finished 5th in last year’s championship.

Alessandro Bonetti is one of the young stars of the GT Open, which he will enter for the third consecutive year. Always faithful to the Ferrari F430, the 24-year old from Trento has driven in the past for GPC and Advanced Engineering, clinching 3 wins so far and a 3rd place in the overall standings in 2007.

Raffaele Gianmaria, 31, from Rome, has been an occasional participant in the International GT Open since 2006, has vast experience in GT racing, and previously raced with single-seaters.
