The second half of the season of the International GT Open will kick-off at Silverstone that the series visits for the first time in this fifth round. On the historic and fast British track, where Joel has raced last April in the ELMS clinching an excellent 4th place, the Swiss driver will be again among the key players in the closely-fought GTS category. For the occasion, Joel will be reunited with his usual team mate, Mario Cordoni, at the wheel of the Ombra Racing Ferrari F458 GT3.
Joël Camathias: “Silverstone is obviously a track where we always go with great pleasure, not only because of the history it exudes but also because it is a real speed track that every driver loves. This time, we should even have good weather, so it promises to be a very nice weekend! I am happy that Mario Cordoni is back, after having to miss the Jerez round, and we hope to do well. I don’t think we can repeat a podium finish like in Spain, also because there are additional good cars entered for this round, but we will aim at being in the points.”
