As we had released here, the NAVI Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder was testing early in the week on the Fuji Speedway. All three drivers who will be behind the wheel at Le Mans next June were there : Sascha Maassen, Seiji Ara and Keisuke Kunimoto. The Japanese team has kindly forwarded some pictures to Endurance-Info. We will give you later on further details about this testing.
Young Keisuke Kunimoto, 20 years old; is seen driving the Porsche. Kunimoto, 2008 Macau GP winner, is part of the Toyota Young Drivers Program, the Toyota program to identify and support young talents and he has been runner-up in the 2008 All Japan F3 standings and he has won the third round of the 2008 SUPER GT at Fuji in the GT300 category when driving a Toyota MR-S.
For his first experience with a prototype, Kunimoto performed quite well, turning his best lap in 1’33″890 with used medium Michelin tyres, while Sascha Maassen with the same rubber was in 1’33″605, Seiji Ara being quickest in 1’33″122, but with fresh medium tyres.
Special thanks to Yoshihisa Hayata for the news and the pictures.
