The Spaniard of Kurdish heritage approaches second half of 2013 season in the International GT Open. Tutumlu, just like at Mugello last weekend, is going to team up with Spavone at the wheel of Barzani Racing Team Porsche.

Isaac Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team are eying the lead in the overall standing of the International GT Open that, next weekend, celebrates two new races at Silverstone. At the moment, the driver born in Barcelona but with Kurdish roots is 5th overall but the lead is just seven points away. Tutumlu has clinched a win and two podiums so far, but his loot could have improved because some mechanical problems prevented him to finish at times. Tutumlu is going to have a different teammate at Silverstone, missing the round Dimitris Deverikos and being replaced by Antonio Spavone, who was with Kurdistan ́s driver at Mugello. There Tutumlu and Spavone finished sixth.

“Mugello was an interesting rehearsal and now we face Silverstone with plenty of confidence”, Tutumlu explained, adding that “I already know this track, an advantage for sure, because we competed here in the Porsche Supercup last year. Even when it was with a different car, it isn ́t a bid deal because for instance I didn ́t know Paul Ricard until my GT Open experience. I ́d like to race under rainy conditions, because it would be a help for us. In rain just a mechanical problem prevented us to win at Paul Ricard and we were fastest overall at Nürburgring. We want to score a good number of points and, managing our handicap time, win isn ́t out of reach”. Regarding his new teammate, Spavone, Barzani Racing Team driver stressed that “despite he ́s very young and with no real experience in GT racing, he showed his speed at Mugello. I think we ́ll be competitive there”.

The timetable starts tomorrow with private tests, with both races on Saturday (16.00 – 70 minutes) and Sunday (12.00 – 50 minutes).
