It was with great regret that SRO was informed today that the Dubai Autodrome will not be hosting the final round of the 2009 FIA GT3 European Championship, originally scheduled to take place from November 12th – 14th.

 
Despite the long-standing relationship between SRO and the Dubai Autodrome, where five rounds of the FIA GT Championship and FIA GT3 European Championship have taken place since 2004, it has proven impossible to maintain the event for 2009.

 
 ”I would like to thank everyone at the Dubai Autodrome for their hard work and I hope we will be able to return there in the near future,” commented Stephane Ratel, chairman of SRO, promoter of the FIA GT3 European Championship.

 
SRO is now working with Circuit Zolder on the inclusion of the FIA GT3 European Championship finale in the FIA GT Championship meeting, to be held at the Belgian circuit on October 23rd – 25th.

 
This replacement round will be confirmed by the FIA shortly.
