Fischer Racing is heading to the penultimate round of the 2009 FIA GT3 European championship this weekend with it’s two Ford GT held at the „Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track” in Le Castellet/France. The two Fischer Racing-Ford GT are shared by the four regular drivers, Christoffer Nygaard (Denmark) and Florian Gruber (Germany) in car #28 (red highlights) and Marc Gindorf (Switzerland) and Frank Kräling (Germany) in car #29 (orange highlights).

This weekend races held in conjunction with the FIA GT championship, mark the end of a 10 year break of public races at the Paul Ricard HTTT. Between 1971 und 1990, the track hosted the French Formula Grand-Prix 14 times. Ten years ago, the track was modified to a top class test facility. With the addition of spectator areas in recent months, the track is now open to the public again. In spring, Fischer Racing took already part in the official pre season test at Paul Ricard, and gathered valuable information about the track, that can be used in more then 180 different layouts.

Fischer Racing driver Florian Gruber, who scored already one victory this season along with Christoffer Nygaard, can’t wait for the two races in Southern France: “The track has some really quick corners, which require good aerodynamics. That should suit our Ford GT well. The well-balanced aerodynamics are one of the strengths of this car, it really handles good in quick corners. So we are confident for the two races.”

After rank two at the last race at Portugal, Gruber and Nygaard are currently fourth in the drivers championship. “Our goal for the two races at Paul Ricard HTTT is to score as many points as possible, and get closer to the championship leaders. We were always quick in the recent races and fought for the victory. Unfortunately, we lost some points due to an engine failure in the last race at Portugal, but we will make this up in France!”
