AF Corse has an really ambitious program for 2010. The team will line up three cars in the international Le Mans Series championship, driven by three exceptional crews. One car will be assigned to Giancarlo Fisichella, Jean Alesi and Toni Vilander. Fisichella and Alesi, ex Formula one drivers, need no introduction. Nor does Toni Vilander, a specialist of GT races who already has two FIA GT titles under his belt (in 2007 and 2008).
In the second car there will be the two Argentinean drivers, Luis Perez Companc and Matias Russo who, in just two years with AF Corse, have made great improvements. Finally, the third crew is made up of Jaime Melo and Gianmaria Bruni. For Melo, this is a return to AF Corse: in 2006 he won the first driver award for the team. Gianmaria Bruni is already a certainty, he was winner in 2008 and amongst the leaders in 2009.
In short, three prestigious crews, who are all capable of success. Amato Ferrari is delighted to have put together such an ambitious program with outstanding, skilled and experienced drivers, and for having a fast and reliable car in the Ferrari F430 with Michelin Tyres. Commenting on the crews he declared ” Bruni, Melo and Vilander have been linked for years with AF Corse. They are certainties. The Argentinean drivers have greatly improved in the past two years and they will provide strong competition. Fisichella and Alesi fill me and my team with great pride.”
