Coupes qualified 6th and 7th for Saturday’s American Le Mans at Long Beach event. Bill Auberlen in the No. 92 M3 lapped the 1.968-mile Long Beach street circuit with a best time of 1:20.486, approximately 0.9 seconds from the pole-sitting pace.

Joey Hand was less than a tenth from his teammate’s time with a 1:20.564 best lap in the No. 90 M3. In his post- qualifying interview (YouTube), Hand expressed confidence for Saturday’s 100-minute race and provided fascinating insight about today’s qualifying experience.
